HK Tower is an Office Building owned by PT Hutama Karya (Persero) with 17 floors completed in 2019 to implement the operationalization of green-based buildings. The benchmark uses GREENSHIP Existing Building 1.2 which comes from the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI). Since implementing the concept, HK Tower managed to save electricity usage up to 40.9% which includes air conditioning with savings from glass thermal resistance and AC system with a special energy chiller updated from solar sell so that it gets 5% saving from the required standard of 3% or OTTV achieved as large as 33.65 from the maximum requirement of 45% with the meaning of overall energy savings HK Tower is 27.11%.
HK Tower, which is managed by one of its subsidiaries in the field of property, PT HK Realtindo, is the 2nd building among state-owned buildings that received the certificate "Greenship EB Platinum" or environmentally friendly building in the most prestigious category. This eco-friendly certificate was granted in January 2021 by Green Building Council Indonesia and is valid until 2024.
The cycle of material resources, comfort and health and environmental management of buildings, to waste management is efficiently applied to improve the comfort of buildings, create more value for its stakeholders, to support the formation of a sustainable environmental ecosystem. In addition, the electrical system and water consumption are also managed optimally one of which is rainwater, there is no overflow out or zero run off so that all water is managed for internal use of the office and put into the natural reservoir of the soil. This means that there is no water thrown peecuma and potentially cause flooding in the city environment.
The implementation of green building rules (which save energy, water, land, materials and maintain indoor air health and manage the environment wisely) is believed to make a real contribution to the sustainability of the city. In addition to the positive impact on the physical and urban environment, the application of green buildings also grounded the principle of saving to be applied by the owners, residents and users of the building.
